Kisseal Coffee: A Blend of Love, Art, and Aroma

Unveiling Tiger Pan's Award-Winning Beverage Design

Shelley's words, "soul meets soul on lover’s lips," and the popular song "sealed with a kiss," served as the inspiration behind Kisseal Coffee. Tiger Pan, the designer, reinterpreted these romantic notions, illustrating the iconic kiss in Times Square during World War II. This design embodies the enduring emotion of love, conveying the idea that love makes the world rotate and is integral to the brand's concept.

What sets Kisseal Coffee apart is its unique name derived from a pop song, with each letter symbolized in the artwork as flowing shapes, reminiscent of the aroma of coffee. The bottle's illustration, created by renowned artists Marco and Stefano from Turin, Italy, draws inspiration from the stained glass windows of churches and the Pop Art style. This gives the package high identifiability and a strong aesthetic appeal, effectively conveying the brand's core values.

The Kisseal Coffee bottle is a plastic container covered by shrink films and printed using the spot-color printing technique. Measuring 57mm in diameter and 146mm in height, the design is both functional and visually appealing. The design was realized in Shenzhen, proofed in Shanghai, and produced in Beijing, between May and September 2017.

Research played a crucial role in the design process. The design team identified that the product was primarily targeted at young people aged between 17 to 27, especially young women. This demographic insight led to the naming of the product as Kisseal, appealing to young women's focus on love and romance. The package and overall brand image were designed to be fashionable and stylish, resonating with the target audience.

Despite the challenge of finding an unregistered name for the product in both Chinese and English, the team overcame this hurdle, resulting in a name that perfectly encapsulates the brand's essence. The design was recognized for its excellence, winning the Golden A' Packaging Design Award in 2018, a testament to its trendsetting creation that advances art, design, and technology.
